In other news, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals overturned multiple rulings today by reinstating gay marriage bans in the states of Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee.
The majority ruling could described as nonsensical, among other things. The author of the majority implied that gay people and anti-gay bigots both have good points and that the court should not decide that anti-gay bigots are necessarily wrong and/or bad people.
I’m paraphrasing, but just barely.
This is the judicial equivalent of saying “both sides are the same.” It’s amazingly vapid and irrelevant.
The court wasn’t asked to decide if anti-gay bigots are bad people.
