Were the dishes at the Youngstown soup kitchen Paul Ryan dropped by last weekend actually dirty?
As we've alleged, and as the video shows, they appear to be clean, however according to a local report, they were in fact dirty. But that's not the end of the story. It actually gets worse from here.

”The Vindicator, in Youngstown, reports that according to Juanita Sherba, the coordinator who gave Ryan permission to come to the soup kitchen, Ryan did wash dirty dishes while he was there. The newspaper reports that Ryan’s staff asked volunteers “to leave some pots and pans unwashed so the VP nominee and his family could do something when he arrived.”
“We had to save dishes,” she said. “We would have gone home by the time he arrived. We didn’t need him to do the dishes. It was getting late, and I said that we were closing in five minutes. I waited longer than that, and he finally arrived.”
Sherba expressed regret that she had allowed the visit to take place.
“It was the phoniest piece of baloney I’ve ever been associated with,” she said. “In hindsight, I would have never let him in the door."
As further noted in The Vindicator piece, ”When an advance person from the Mitt Romney/Ryan campaign asked about the visit, Sherba said it took her by surprise. “I didn’t know it was my place to say ‘no,’” she said. “I made a mistake.” The event was completely staged by the campaign, she said. “They couldn’t have cared less,” Sherba said. “The advance man said Paul Ryan wanted to come and talk to our clientele, but he didn’t.”
Ryan called ahead and asked them to save dishes for him. He showed up late. And he didn't talk to anyone.
You have to marvel at how an already bad story became even worse after each iteration of detail became available.
This should be the last time I mention this story. Probably. Maybe.
