House Oversight Chairman Darrell Issa apparently hasn’t found Waldo yet.
Issa is accusing the FBI of “obstructing” his investigation into the fake IRS scandal. And if you weren’t aware that the fake IRS scandal is still a thing, don’t feel bad because neither did I.
“The department’s tactics have impeded a congressional investigation and interfered with the committee’s access to documents and information,” Issa and Jordan wrote Monday to FBI director James Comey.
“Obstructing a congressional investigation is a crime. Making false statements to congressional staff is also a crime.”
Like a dog barking at the mail man.
Meanwhile, Issa’s grand Obamacare inquisition is asking insurance companies to turn over their communications with the Department of Health and Human Services to determine if President Obama is the liar Issa knows him to be and if insurance companies are just innocent bystanders. Poor guys.
The letters were sent to major insurance companies — Aetna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Humana, Kaiser Permanente, UnitedHealth Group among them. Issa asks for a response by Dec. 13.
Issa is looking for a few pieces of information. Did insurance companies know that the president would say that Americans could keep their health plan or their provider? Did they inform the administration that some plans would be canceled or provider networks changed? Did they object to that characterization?
It’s not an exaggeration to say that Darrell Issa may be the busiest man in Washington right now. He’s not busy producing anything of value or constructive, however, he’s busy cooking a pot of conjecture.
That’s not an impeachment he’s smelling.
