I would've guessed maybe South Carolina, Texas or Kansas. But nope -- it looks like the teabaggers will be taking up arms against the United States in Oklahoma.
OKLAHOMA CITY — Frustrated by recent political setbacks, tea party leaders and some conservative members of the Oklahoma Legislature say they would like to create a new volunteer militia to help defend against what they believe are improper federal infringements on state sovereignty.
It's really remarkable, given that elected politicians are endorsing this approach. I think it's the first time that a militia movement has been offered legitimacy by elected officials. Anyone know?
So will they be assaulting mail carriers delivering IRS refunds? Or stimulus money for roads? How exactly does a teabagger militia block federal infringements using conventional armaments?
Anyway, so much for words like "reload" being simply metaphorical.
