Greg Sargent summarizes a would-be failure to pass the healthcare reform bill:
Pass the health bill, and Dems get a thousand articles about the new law. Fail to pass it, and they get a thousand columns about how feckless they are.
This is absolutely correct. The story will be: The president said we're about to drive over a cliff like Thelma & Louise, and yet they couldn't get it done with 59-60 votes in the Senate and a 78 vote majority in the House.
