The Nuclear Bomb in the Gulf

From reader "Chip" along the Florida coast:

If today some country set off a nuclear bomb in some country. There might be a moment of silence world wide. A moment of reflection of saying what on Gods earth what are we doing. The bomb has gone off in the Gulf of Mexico. I work extra hours as a server in a restaurant on Sanibel Island Florida ( paying off debt I will donate to your site next go round broke now). Today we were 86'd on oysters. I explained to my tables it was because of the oil spill. Some of the people were oblivious. "Ripleys believe it or not"

The bomb has gone off in the environment. I have lived in S.W. Florida for nearly 30 years of my life. I remember as a kid here in Florida that we would spend the whole day catching catfish with hot dogs. You would be hard pressed to catch a catfish on anything even a hot dog regardless
of an oil spill.

I know the sweet smell of saltwater from the back bay at night under a full moon. I know the sound of mullet jumping, a snook popping the surface, the pump of the breath of a dolphin, a turtle crawling to the edge of the sea and Phosphorescent illuminating the breath of the depths
of the sea.

I can feel the pain of those people so closely connected to the pulse of this world on the Gulf of Mexico.

The bomb came in in the form of an oil spill.

Fudge, I wanted to go stand on the side of the road and hold a sign that said thank you for your addiction.

God Bless, My heart breaks.
