Ezra Klein reports on the Elizabeth Warren conference call today:
The White House held a conference call today for Elizabeth Warren and various bloggers and writers. Most of it was what you'd expect, but Warren did mention that Rep. Barney Frank once told her that getting a Consumer Financial Protection Bureau was a "pipe dream."
As we've discussed here at length, the administration's legislative record so far has been strong. Not perfect. But strong. Stronger than many modern first term administrations (those not given a political capital boost via terrorist attack). Ezra argues that the unemployment situation is holding back the president's approval numbers, but as soon as the economy recovers and is chugging along at a steady clip, we'll see those numbers jump.
