Earlier this week, Drudge and other wingnut websites made a big deal out of a photo apparently showing President Obama and President Sarkozy checking out the ass of a shapely woman during an event at the G8.
Drudge posted the photo above the his logo with the headline: "Second Stimulus Package!" Free Republic, which also traffics in ranking on the Obama girls, posted the photo with an hilarious wingnut caption contest. Fox Nation naturally posted it, too. As did Jake Tapper with the headline: "When In Rome...?"
Of course President Obama wasn't doing any such thing. As Media Matters documents, the president was helping a second woman down the steps and was turning his head to look back at the other woman and then down to check the steps. Nothing untoward. Nothing out of line.
It goes without saying that Drudge never retracted his headline. To be fair, Greta Van Susteran and Jake Tapper corrected the record and Michelle Malkin outright debunked the photo, but none of that stopped the spastic Fox News morning zoo from continuing to spread misinformation the next day as though nobody had retracted the false accusation.
