There's been an ongoing debate for the last 55 years about whether or not we should have dropped the atom bomb on Hiroshima. But on this day in 1945, we dropped a second bomb -- this time a plutonium-based weapon -- on Nagasaki without giving the Japanese time to consider a surrender following the Hiroshima bomb.
