Yglesias presents a chart showing what percentage of Americans state-by-state would pay a slightly higher tax rate in order to help fund healthcare reform.
Upshot -- it's anywhere from 1 to 2 percent. In other words, one or two percent of the wealthiest Americans would pay a minor surtax so that all Americans can enjoy affordable, accessible healthcare.
The wealthiest 1 or 2 percent should embrace this, too. A healthier population spending less of their income on healthcare will tend to, you know, buy more things in stores and take more vacations and so forth. That means more revenue the rich bastards who own everything.
