I can't help but to think of the following quote from American Psycho:
"There is an idea of a Patrick Bateman; some kind of abstraction. But there is no real me: only an entity, something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable... I simply am not there."
That's Mitt Romney. He's an abstraction. He's simply not there.
He's scamming naive voters with lies and a handshake, just like every corporate CEO who's strong, smiling, well-groomed public persona barely disguises the fact that he's poisoned the oceans with PCBs, or refused to recall a dangerous car, or bundled crappy mortgages, or marketed in credit default swaps.
