I can't muster much praise for someone who aligned themselves with Donald Trump in the first place, but for what it's worth a member of Trump's relatively new Hispanic advisory council resigned last night after Trump figuratively lit a cross on fire in Arizona last night.
Jacob Monty resigned from the board following the Phoenix speech, telling Politico that he was disappointed in the rhetoric Trump used in Phoenix.
"I was a strong supporter of Donald Trump when I believed he was going to address the immigration problem realistically and compassionately," he told Politico. “What I heard today was not realistic and not compassionate.”
Trump reportedly lied to his token advisory group, privately telling them that he would "soften" his stance on immigration. That was obviously a big fat lie and they should have known better.
So should our glorious political press. Trump is a pathological liar who lies every single day. Trump will tell you exactly what you want to hear and exactly what you don't want to hear within the span of few hours or even a single paragraph.
CBS News is also reporting that as many as half of Trump's advisory board are considering resigning after last night's white supremacist speech.
I don't know what his Hispanic advisers were expecting, but former Grand Wizard of the Klan David Duke was very pleased last night.
Excellent speech by Donald Trump tonight. Deport criminal aliens, end catch and release, enforce immigration laws & America First.
