Court documents from a labor lawsuit filed against one of Trump's companies in California reveal that managers at his golf club in Rancho Palos Verdes changed the work schedules of their female employees to protect them from the GOP nominee.
According to testimony from former employees, some women were specifically scheduled to work while Trump visited the golf club because if he saw women he did not find attractive, he would demand that managers fire them.
From the Los Angeles Times:
When Trump did visit, the club’s managers went on alert. They scheduled the young, thin, pretty women on staff to work the clubhouse restaurant — because when Trump saw less-attractive women working at his club, according to court records, he wanted them fired.
"I had witnessed Donald Trump tell managers many times while he was visiting the club that restaurant hostesses were 'not pretty enough' and that they should be fired and replaced with more attractive women,” Hayley Strozier, who was director of catering at the club until 2008, said in a sworn declaration.
The manager of the club restaurant also testified that Trump personally pulled him aside and told him to "get some good looking hostesses here."
These statements came in a lawsuit filed by workers who say they were not provided breaks throughout the day to eat or rest. Trump's club settled the lawsuit and paid the employees nearly half a million dollars while admitting no fault.
This would be a significant story at any point, but it's especially poignant now considering Trump has spent the entire week attacking former Miss Universe Alicia Machado who he once referred to as "Miss Piggy" and "Miss Housekeeping."
This is who Trump is. He's a chauvinistic pig and he always has been.
