House Republicans were going to vote on a continuing resolution tomorrow that would symbolically defund Obamacare, however the vote has been delayed because they didn’t have enough votes to pass it because it doesn’t defund Obamacare for real.
Conservative groups were furious Tuesday when the plan was unveiled and immediately organized against it, demanding that Republicans go the distance and threaten a government shutdown if Democrats don’t blink. Right-leaning advocacy groups like FreedomWorks, Club For Growth and Heritage Action have vowed to punish lawmakers who support the proposal. Republican leaders, on the other hand, recognize they’d probably be blamed for a shutdown and don’t want to risk it.
Just symbolically voting to defund Obamacare isn’t good enough anymore. The Flying Monkey Caucus wants the real thing. They want to have a real coke and a smile, not a diet coke. They’ve had just about enough of your stall-tactics and they want to kick millions of people off their healthcare in time for Christmas.
