I will never, ever understand the poorness of spirit and lack of compassion that would lead to demanding and giving tax cuts to people who have absolutely no need for the money. Giving a $250,000 tax cut to a rich guy is like giving me $5. It just makes no difference in my life. But that tax money makes a huge difference to those without health care.

I like the cartoon. Pretty much sums it up. The kind of “choice” that Chaffetz and Ryan are talking about is the choice of paying for insurance that will cover a small portion of small medical bills that could easily be covered out of pocket even by the working poor and middle income. Any serious medical care involved, and you are simply out of luck. Or dead. Which ever comes first. And according to Chaffetz, it is all your fault. Because you may have an iPhone. And all of a sudden the deficit hawks are back salivating over tax cuts for the exceedingly wealthy. This will not “create jobs”. This will create income inequality otherwise known as rich people get richer and do so because they have bought themselves a political party.
