I wouldn't normally center an entire post around a single tweet, but get a load of this shit:
Now, if you've been paying any attention at all over the past several years, you're probably asking yourself 'what appropriations bills?'
It's particularly bewildering that the Freedumb Caucus would share this sentiment given that they're the primary reason why congressional Republicans have not completed the appropriations process for as long as they've had control of Congress.
They're the primary reason why the government might shut down tomorrow night; the primary reason why a standalone bill to fund the Children's Health Insurance Program hasn't been passed.
The last time House Republicans even attempted to go through the formal budget process (2015), they abandoned the process because they did not want to hold a vote on the display of Confederate flags at federal cemeteries. They skipped the process in 2016 because of the election, they skipped the process in 2017 because they wanted to repeal Obamacare, and they're skipping the process this year because of the election.
Even if the House did start passing appropriations bills for the first time in years, Senate Republicans can't actually force Democrats to do anything, so it's not clear what the hell Mike Lee is talking about.
