As Rachel discussed last night, that (now vetoed) Arizona Birther law would make it illegal for anyone from Arizona to run for office. The law required citizens of Arizona to produce a document that the state of Arizona does not use. Furthermore, how many potential women candidates from Arizona would be able to produce the alternative document: a circumcision record?
It's another item in a long roster of wingnut idiocy -- whether it's aligning with Birthers, to misunderstanding the Constitution (Palin doesn't get the speech clause of the First Amendment), to suggesting President Obama was responsible for job losses in 2008 before he was president, to the Eric Cantor magical law-making bill -- and it's obvious these people are completely and fully incompetent.
They're either playing dumb or they're just morons. Maybe a little of both. At the very least, they're unserious and shouldn't be allowed to govern until they get grip on reality.
Back to the Birther law. Do they even know or care that they're banning everyone in Arizona from appearing on a ballot? Has anyone told them? Unbelievable. Come to think of it, considering the dinguses holding political office there, maybe it's a good thing they'll all be banned from running again.
