The Lorillard Tobacco Co. for this awfulness from the 1950s:
BOSTON — A jury has ruled the Lorillard Tobacco Co. tried to entice black children to become smokers by handing out free cigarettes and has awarded $71 million in compensatory damages to the estate and son of a woman who died of lung cancer.
The Suffolk Superior Court jury announced its verdict Tuesday after hearing weeks of testimony.
Lorillard makes Newports, Kent and True. If you happen to smoke any of these brands, maybe consider switching -- or better yet, quit. You'll be happy you did.
Yep. Tobacco companies continue to operate, and they continue to find new ways to hook people into smoking despite all of the evidence of both malfeasance and death. Meanwhile, I'm not allowed to bring a tube of fucking toothpaste on an airplane.
